Default Car Struggles to Start

Hello. My car cranks and cranks but takes a long time to start. When it does start, it idles very rough and if i rev a little, the car will die. this only happens temporarily until the car warms up a little bit. any idea's what it could be cause this is one of the oddest problems ive had.

Do these in this order.

1. Clean your throttle body
2. Clean your IACV
3. Adjust your idle

have you messed with your spark plug and wires? if you have, double check and see if the wires are in the right firing order

had recent problem like this. sounds like your not getting combustion from all 4 cylinders. check your plugs ($12 for 4), plug wires ($40 to $50), firing order, dizzy cap and rotor button ($15 each), timing, and if none of those are the culprits, then yea, replace your dizzy.

heres another interesting fact. its only hard to start when its cold. when i let it warm up, its starts just fine </TD></TR></TABLE>

Don't go replacing parts just yet. If it starts just fine when warm then a new distributor is likely to not fix your problem.

If you want to go buy something, go out and get yourself a digital multimeter.

Does the car let out a puff of dark smoke when you finally get it started?

You should check your engine coolant temp sensor and the intake air temp sensors. Make sure those are workin, both will have an affect on ignition timing and fuel injector pulse width
