Default fuel cutoff i think at 3.5k rpm

So heres the story, I was getting ready for hsd, then found out one of my coolant hoses had a whole in it, the one that goes from the motor to the heater. It was leaking at the motor side, I replaced it and put my distributor back on. It started cutting off a little below 3.5. I advanced my dizzy, fixed the problem. Now, 2-3 days later its doing it again. Im thinking its because of my dizzy somehow, iunno. Any suggestions? oh yeah, water spewed everywhere, my coolant was completely gone, almost, i guess...

had the same problem, open ur spark plug wires and see if theri wet, if they are just replace them or let them sit in the sun for like hours till it completely dies, its not fuel cutoff its misfires, but then my motor was a b16 so i opened the sparkplug cover and took off the wires and they were wet so i cleaned them and this worked cuz they were wet, well clean the sparkplug holes too and the top of the spark plugs, basically all the ignition system

Last two weeks ago, my car does that when i coming from work. But now its running fine after I fix its. I check the spark plug wires, changed the spark plug and check all the sensor but nothing help. Now, I thinking was either the distributor went bad or maybe the ecu. Then this pass weekend, I check the ecu and look through all the wires that connected to the ecu. I found out that one of the wire connected to the ecu was broke because the owner before connected them together and solid its but don't know why its coming off. I connect its back then start the engine, its running fine.
Don't know about yours but make sure you check all the wires to make sure none came off or loose.

missfires still after changing the wires, checked the ecu, all wires are fine. Can a messed up dash harness in any way cause missfire? because my dash harness is pretty out of it, Im changing my dash harness pretty soon, just waiting on a call to go and pick up a new one, will come back with more info.

Did you set the timing with a timing light? I bet youre way off because it sounds like you just bolted it back on and wiggled the dizzy around.

i bolted it back on, does it matter that much? ILl set it straight with a timing light today after school.

Oh yeah, and its getting worse. just pumped in a full tank of 87 octane and now it starts to die. Im going to go and start it up now and go to school. just fyi its cold outside.

is it good now, it wouldnt be ur dash harness cuz that has nothing to do with engine operation, unless its going to the ecu

Imma change it anyways. My car still missfires i think, im not getting any cel, I looped an led light and no blinks. On the way to school it started rev limiting again. gunna fix my ignition timing later, when i get my hands on a gun. could the o2 sensor cause this? when coolant was leaking, my o2 sensor got wet, and still is wet, but that doesn't solve the problem of why it only does it when my car is warmed up, maybe bad thermo ground? i did take the thermo off, i put the ground back on, maybe when the thermo opens its not getting grounded anymore. i mightve installed the thermo back in wrong because the gasket was a little etchy. can i ground that ground somewhere else? and now itll die sometimes when im idling.

got it, it was the vtec solenoid. I broke the green plug off and the plug was on it but loose. I just unplugged vtec and viola. problem solved.

Unplugging vtec did not fix my problem, it was just a coincidence. I pinpoint to when it starts rev limiting at 3.5k but cant find the reason why. Tried changing spark plug wires, tried unplugging vtec, I get no cel, I have no idea if my cel light is broken or not, but when i jump the thing with a led light it doesn't blink either.

It will rev limit at 3.5k when it gets pretty close to the middle on the temperature gauge, but if I throw the heater on max blast and let the temp go down, it'll run fine again.

Update, turning the heater to max blast does not fix the problem, but it seems it helps it a little. Im going towards a messed up distributor. I'm going to change the dizzy as soon as i get one.
