ok heres the deal. i bought a 93 del sol from some guy who had turbo charged the original d16z6 in it. the turbo set up what kinda ghetto and cheap (no intercooler, aquarium pressure relief valves inline to the map sensor, etc.) the guy told me i should get it 'tuned.' i had no idea what this meant so i just kept driving it. the engine was supposedly rebuilt and the car had over 200,000 miles on it. the engine started smoking under acceleration and having wierd start problems such as noise coming from the turbo. this engine was very short lived maybe cuz i didnt get it tuned or somethin i dont know. so i figured i would start fresh. i bought a jdm b18c engine and lsd transmission out of a 96 integra type r. i swapped the engine in to my car recently using mounts and shift linkage from hasport. i cut and spliced the plugs from the new obd2 integra engine onto my original obd1 del sol harness. the car is running now and i want to get it 'tuned.' i know nothing about this tuning that everyone speaks of. im using a p72 ecu with an obd jumper cable to run the new engine. i know found out that i cant get this ecu 'chipped.' i have the original p28 ecu and since the previous owner supposedly 'tuned' the car, does this mean the ecu has been 'chipped?' since i have already modified the wiring harness, am i gonna have to get a new one and convert the engine to obd1 to start 'tuning' with the p28 ecu? what do i need to start tuning my car??? PLEASE HELP

 

I lost track of whats going on. maybe bullet point the things you did in order for us, its alot earier to follow that way.

 

-del sol si with integra b18c type r engine and tranny

-engine is running off p72 ecu with obd jumper harness

-modified original engine harness with plugs from new engine harness for distributor, alternator, and injectors

-can p72 be chipped for tuning? and if not, can p28 be chipped and reused with with the new engine and modified harness?

-what do i need to start tuning? where do i take it to get tuned?

-what is tuning? i know nothing of this tuning stuff im mechanically inclined not electrically

-and last my cars previous owner turbo charged the original engine. he said he had it tuned, does this mean that the original p28 ecu is chipped for tuning?

 

What Year B18c is it? it matters because it could be obd2a or obd2b... And a P28 will run a b18c for sure, especially if the motor is tuned with a crome or hondata or similar.
