Default Overheating!

So I tried searching but there weren't any topics that fit my situation (at least I don't think so)

I had a leak from one of the coolant hoses, one of the smaller ones that runs from the firewall and towards the head, anyway so I replaced that hose and now I have like a pressure build up in the top coolant hose and from the radiator, I cant drive for like 5 miles without overheating. It doesn't smoke or anything until I let the pressure out from the rad.

Do I have a bad radiator cap? Any help with this would be awesome, I'm trying to avoid going to the shop

You should check your cap and your thermostat since when they mess up they dont open or close when needed if those aren't your problems your radiator may be clogged and if not that your heads are busted and water is getting in your engine........Start from the bottom though first and work up......

So now the car drives fine and the temp stays at a stable range but when I stop at like a traffic light for a extended time, the temp rises until I start moving again.

Is there any other suggestions or is it the same?

turn your car on and pop the hood
wait five minutes while it warms up and look around and see if you you need to top off any fluids while your waiting for the fans to turn on
if they dont it could be your fan switch by the thermostat housing
its like 22-32 bux depending where you go

The thermostat in most cars is found at the end of the top main radiator hose......Like the dude above me said too, turn your car on check if you have any leaks as your water pump may be leaking and so that causes it to overheat as well.....As you wait check if your fans turn on if not then theres your problem as when your moving the air thats being pushed in to the engine bay cools the water and engine......So if they arent turning on you'll need to buy the fan switch, if your on a tight budget go to the junkyard and get one from there...If your even tighter then just put em direct so that they are always on I wouldnt really recommend it since your fans will end up burning out....
