Default B16A2 sohc vs dohc ECU

I have a question, the guy doing my engine swap is trying to give me a SOHC VTEC ECU to run my DOHC VTEC, will this work, and if so will I lose power? Also how do I tell a JDM from a USDM?

you cannot use a sohc ecu to run a b16, you can use a P28, which is from a sohc motor (92-95 EX) but it has to be remapped, not stock.

If the P28 is chipped i would take that if not the guy is tryin to **** you over. If it is a stock ECU you would have some fucked up mapping and a rev limiter at 7200rpm. See what he says
