ZC cam in D16A6?
I have an 89 Si I am building for circle track and I want some extra power. The car has to remain stock for the most part. I am thinking a ZC cam would help a little though. Can I put this in and get some extra power? I have searched but all I can find are ZC - D16 debates. I also think I am gonna get a chipped PM6 to go with it and replace the head gasket with an MLS gasket. TIA

YES.. sohc zc cam will work, and is slightly more aggresive. you can even use dohc zc or usdm d16a9 (old assed integra) pistons for even more compression

The cams are the same. The sohc ZC makes more power from the ecu tune and higher octane in Japan. A while back someone measured them and the profiles were the same.

sorry brah, the cams are different. i measured them. do you believe me?
and it depends on if you get the carbed version, or the mpfi. you want the mpfi.
but really, the difference is so slight. its no comparison to an aftermarket cam.

Any recommendations on an aftermarket cam? Something pretty close to stock. I really appreciate all the quick answers guys

but doesnt a regrind only change the where the "power band" is? u cant add lift when removing material, so is a regrind gonna add power or just move it in the rpm range? ive never owned a regrind am im curious what u get out of it, ive heard alot of stuff about them that didnt seem logical.

No kidding? I could have sworn someone measured and they were the same. But I will certainly take your word on it!
