Civic Knuckles on Teg....What Brakes to use?
As it says, I found out that a previous owner put these knuckles on my car....for the life of me I dont know why(it's a downgrade). But now I need brakes and was wondering if I need civic brakes. Replacing the entire knuckle is not a feasible option at this time for me.
Here is the driver knuckle: Looks like it says: SOL-13

And the pass knuckle: Looks like is says SR-R-13

I need to know all info to get calipers/rotors/pads for these knuckles. I found out they are from a Civic when an Intgera wheel bearing would not fit(too big O.D.) Also, what upgrade can I do (vented rotors, etc) since I am going turbo.
And here is a shot of the rear brakes....these look stock Integra to me, can anybody confirm?

Thanks for the help.

the front knuckles are a civic style, 9.5" front disc. The rears are from a civic or integra with rear discs, 9.4" solid rear discs. There are many upgrades you can do, PM me and I'll hook you up.

what are these holes for? the brakeline or ABS sensor?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Brake hose bracket. The hose runs down to the bracket off of the strut and then bolts to the knuckle. Sensor would mount down near the axle, around the tone ring.

Yes, those are for a bracket that holds the middle of the brake hose. The big, thin round piece of sheet metal is called the dust shield. behind that around where you see the ribs on the axle...on the knuckle are two other threaded holes if ABS existed.
So you are saying my knuckles are non-abs correct? Is there a way to fake out the abs sensor so the computer does not throw a light? I was thinking there is a certian resistance the ECM wants to see across that circuit so a resistor could fake it out? I really dont care if I have ABS, I just need to pass NYS inspection and Im not sure if they will overlook an ABS light.
I don't know of anyway to bypass ABS, it looks at the sensor and uses the axle grooves to calculate RPM. There are brake options for the knuckles you have, but there are a lot more for the Integra and EX civic knuckles. if possible, i highly reccomend getting a set. If not, PM me and I'll build you a brake setup (I do not reccomend using the stock 9.5" civic DX brakes on a Teg.)

Ok, I came across these these 97 Integra LS knuckles I had from a parts car, actually forgot I had them. They would work great, but my driveshafts on my current car dont have the grooves for the abs sensor to read? Is there really abs & non-abs driveshafts? Now I have a mix and match of parts and either way I dont have a complete assy(because these driveshafts are shot).

And my driveshafts on my car currently(dont see the abs sensor grooves)

Whats your opinion?

well those are rusty as hell, but may still work. You'll need some tools, but what I'd reccomend is to take the axle out of those knuckles and take apart the end. The ends are the same, and you can use the axle end with the ABS ribs and attach it to the axles you have (remember to use lots of grease, this will be very very messy.)
Ok, I think I have decided to stick with the Civic knuckles b/c of the cost savings for me at this point. I think I can get the ABS light to go off(I think), and then I should be fine with inspection, and I really dont care about ABS anyways. But, How do i know what front calipers / rotors / pads to buy when I am not sure what car these knuckles are from? And they are not even the same, however, the wheel bearings are the same. I have only heard guesses that they are from a Civic DX, but I need to confirm before buying any parts.
Here is the best I have right now....

The wheel bearing that fit these hubs was PN: 44300-S04-008 and here is a link that shows what cars it fits:

I still am a little worried that I might need different different brakes for each knuckle b/c they are different. Or do you think the brakes will be the same for both? i guess right now I just want to get this car on the road, then I can worry about upgrading when I go turbo b/c that might be a while....

the hub that is upright is from a DX civic, i can confirm that. sorry to be a bitch but can you get a direct sideshot of the other one so i can confirm that it is a DX one too? also, im going to check my teg knuckle verse my DX civic knuckle, because those knuckles got me puzzled. ill get back to you with verification.
