Default Eg power window question..

Does anyone know if u have to have both the master power window switch and the passenger power window switch plugged in to make the power windows operate?

My power windows aren't working and i read somewhere that if u dont have both switches plugged in, then the windows wont work from either switch, and im missing my passenger power window switch. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

You must have the master to operate any of the windows. Your first test should have been on the driver side window. Let me know if you have any questions.

The answer is basically yes. Without the passenger switch, the master switch cannot operate that same passenger window. The switches are interdependent.

Ok well ive got the master switch plugged in but not the passenger switch, and neither windows work. When i hooked up direct power to that pass. window motor, it went up and down, i haven't tried the drivers side yet.

Ive tried a new relay and still neither window would work from the master switch.

If you have already checked carefully for blown fuses, then troubleshoot the driver's switch with a continuity tester as described in the service manual.
