Default Civic tie-rod replacement suggestions...

Hello HT member,

I was wondering what for replacement suggestions individuals can offer if I'm in the market to replace two warn-out front outter tie-rods. The chassie is a 92-95 Civic, however I do have complete GSR knuckles and calipers. What do I spec them out for, or is there no difference?

thanks

Nobody ever needs replacement tie-rods. How about NAPA brand?

there are tons of aftermarket tie-rods. But like everyone says, stock is the best.

Unless your tie-rods are damaged or joints are bad, just re use them.

btw, if your ball joint boots ever get torn or ripped, just replace them with honda boots. I think they are no more than $5 at any dealers.

Hello.

Yeah my tie-rod spindle just spins in the casted end. The only way I was able to tighten it was lay on it with a impact wrench. I just want to replace them so I can have a piece of mind.

quality does matter.

napa oe spec parts seem to have a higher standard than autozone stuff. but i always trust stock OEM.

use a new castle nut or retap the threads on the nut if it makes the balljoint spin. its because the threads on the nut get stretched after being used, especially because of the castellated, discontinuous threads.

of course if the balljoint is worn and needs replacement, you ought to change that too.
