Car shuts down at idle
Hello, just had the car shut down on me twice on the way home. Happened while I'm idling in traffic I think. Went home poped the hood and found that the K&N filter is kind of loose. So my question is, say if the sensor sense a opening between the filter and the intake pipe, does it shut the car down? I got no engine check light or anything unusual besides it shuts down. Thanks
I don't have a service manual, so I don't know exactly what the sensor can do. Anyway, I tighte the filter, and turn the car on, and it looks like the intake (I have a sri) is vibrating with the engine, that explains why it became loose. Drove for about half tank after the shutdown now and the car has yet to do the samething on me. It must been the filter problem. Anyone with a service manual can verify what the maf sensor can do when receiving a unusual input?

if the maf sensor is loose it would cause the car to shut down.. i remember when my homies se-R his maf sensor was on backwards and his car would only stay on if he rev'd the **** out of the motor lol
