Last night, coming home from dinner, I was exiting the freeway, wasn't driving hard at all, just cruising. When I went to put it in first gear leaving the light, it wouldn't go in all the way, felt like something was stopping it about half way. Can't get it into 1st, 3rd, or 5th, but 2nd, 4th, and reverse are perfect, smooth. Any ideas?
mine does that every once in a while, i figured it was just synchros or something having to do wtih clutch going out.

But wouldn't a bent shift fork not allow me to go into any gears? Could it be the shift linkage itself? I have to work today, so I'm going to lift it up tomorrow, and pull the tranny if necessary.

I took a look at the tranny last night, looks like the shift fork is bent, have no idea how this happened, as I wasn't driving hard when the gears stopped working, maybe from racing it last weekend? Anyway, my friend gently took a mallet to the shift fork, and now I can get the car into all the gears, except 3rd. I'm going to pull it this weekend, and my friend has agreed to trade it for an extra hydro B16 tranny, as long as I pay for the repairs on the original tranny. That'll work. Thanks for everyones input,
