hmm it doesnt look shiny at all, is that jsut the base coat??? or with clear too>??
btw good job so far, make sure wet sand and buff, it really make a home job look like professional job, and it takes out runs and imperfections that occur in most home job, just need a 30 dollar buffer from walmart, a 3m polish 10 bucks, and a scratch remover, i used turtle brand was cheap 6 bucks, and a nice wax, like mothers or about same quality

Damn thats an old skool gun. Didn't know people still use them. You might want look more at your spray pattern especially when you shoot the clear. Why did you prime the entire car? I just prime the repair area and seal the entire car before I lay the base down.

That u have to primer the whole car if ur changing the original color and if ur doing the same base coat then only put primer on the damage area... i can see that he went from RED base coat to WHITE base coat.. So that means he knows the METHODS of primer and painting! hope the settles it

Coming from one of the people that trains "proffesional painters" - You DON'T need to prime the entire car.
Now you might want to prime it.... so you could block it down some more and make sure it's nice and straight, or if you have something abnormal going on..... would I seal it before I painted it? Very possibly..... but you don't need to either. Spot priming is fine.

Nope, didn't settle anything. Its not going to hurt anything priming the entire car but it is just unnecessary work. Also the towel over your face will not save your lungs from breathing the chemicals in, maybe overspray but you need to get a respirator. That's about the dumbest thing you can do to yourself.

We finished the car were just gonna wait 2 weeks to wet sand it and buff it,
We did take the bumpers, side moldings, gas door, and side skirts off the car
and we did use masks
. We also painted the door jams, trunk area and were gonna paint the engine bay when we swap the motor.

thank god, I seriously shat bricks when I saw that towel over your head.
for any other future painters, a good 3m respirator only costs $20 and is disposable:

they are good for about 20 hours of painting and MUST be kept sealed in a ziplock bag when not in use
SAVE YOUR LUNGS, please! Even painting 1 car can do SERIOUS irreversalable damage to your lungs.
