right now i have the stock black sideskirts on my civic coupe, i want to get them painted white to match my car, i know that si's came with their sideskirts painted already, when i get mine painted .. will there be any difference?

 

all depends on shade of color if u can find the code of si color, then u can match it at auto stores, or if u dont really care, jsut get a nice can of white spray paint, just PREP well or its gonna chip off, if u need some advice here is SOME BUT NOT ALL, im not gonna type it all out unless u want me to, pm me then


1;i would use the paint striper, mild, dont use heavy stuff

2; clean it, wet sand 220,

3; wet sand 400

4, use soap and water clean them out real good

5; use tack cloth and wipe it real good, no dust or things

6; double check make sure the surface is even sanded, and not have any major sand marks

7; LIGHT coat ur paint on there, thats the base, let it sit 5 minutes, smoke a cig, or drink a beer

8; medium coat of paint, it dont really need to cover the whole thing,

9; apply total of 2-4 coats, remember LIGHT coats is the key,

10 then 2 light coat of clear if u want them, if u really want them to shine and look oem

11, wet sand polish and buff, it be good

hey htanks for the response man .. but i was going to get them professionaly painted, and my car is white. i was wondering if they can come out just as good as stock si sideskirts if i get them professionally done

 

hmm if they use the right paint code yes, and depends on condition of ur car, sometimes new paint will shine more and look LITTLE bit off color than the body of car but, it shuld come really close like 90% so u cant tell unless u STARE at it hardcore... but should be same tho

I had my VSM EX's sideskirts painted and they came out perfect, that is all the Si's sideskirts are anyways.

Having them look good and last all has to do with the quality of the workmanship and the materials used. Make sure you take it to a decent paint or body shop.

 

yea i plan on taking my sideskirts .. a mugen lip that i still have to purchase and maybe a front grill .. to a local paint shop that is very reputable .. the owner lives near me and he changes the color of his truck at least like once every three months and he does reallly good work .. so i think everything should come out nice
