Default why would a 5 speed civic start with out pushing in the clutch?!

aight i have a 97 civic coupe... and i can start the car with out even pushing in the clutch! car seems stock ... so don't think that anybody would have mess with it..
also heater does not work blows out air but nothing.... plus also the car while driving it .. it would kinda of stall or pull back.. when i press on the gas..
the motor in the car seems to be one from a junk yard or something.. it has yellow writing on it...
could it be that they have made it auto to standard ?! it has the auto cluster on it now... i don't know if they switched out the computer or not....

look up at the clutch pedal and there will be a switch that has wires going into it it may be unplugged or shorted out.

I think that with auto trans'. Check the clutch pedal switch as mentioned above. It may have been a auto at one time and has been swapped and not done properly

+1 especially if you said it has a auto cluster in it. if you have any CEL's then you may still have the auto ecu in it. but if no Cel's then its probaly just the clutch safety switch.
