Default Good or Bad idea to switch to premium fuel?

I have a 2000 S2k, with 83,000 miles on it, i will have the car for another 5 years while im going through school, and plan to keep it as long as it runs after that.

I have a brother that has an accord with 450,000 miles on it and he runs premium fuel.... so can you give me some insights, thanks

if im not mistaken, its recommended that you ONLY use premium.. it makes sense since the s2k has pretty high comp

My question is... What were you running before? 85? 87?

But anyways, luckily the computer is smart enough and has a good knock sensor to back off timing.

The s2k has a knock sensor and will advance or retard timing. If you use something lower than whats recomended your car will be fine the knck sensor will catch any detonation and the ecu will correct everything. So you can run a lower octaine gas and everything will be ok. But if you run a lower octaine then whats recomended you will not get 240hp out of your motor. Honda only recomndeds 91 so you get the full 240hp its tuned for.

I use 93 cause thats the highest I can get.

plus you get better mpg with a higher octaine gas so it basicly evens out the price and the miles you drive. So why be a fucckin [pejorative]got and use anytihng lower than whats recomended????

well, you can't do anything about it now. lol. were you at redline a lot? or at all? lol...

the car should have done all it could to protect itself. hopefully u are ok. car should seem a lot more powerful when you use premium now compared to what you were used to. lol
