Steering Wheel is angled when going straight....02 Civic 4DR
I just aquired a 02 Civic 4DR EX...1.7 SOHC VTEC...
A little bit of mods, bore out TB, stock height and 205/55 tires on SIR's, 04 rear bumper
got for a real good deal but needs some TLC....
One of things on the list is the steering wheel, as I am driving the car in a straight direction...the steering wheel's position is at an angle, all though the owner did get an alignment before selling it to me...
None the less what could be causing this? where do I start looking? could this be the steering rack is toast or could it be something else?
I also plan on lowering this (2 inches front and rear), this gen civic is all new to me, and they say I should use EP3 tie rods...is there a specific year or are all the same?
But first things first, gotta fix the steering wheel...so what would you suggest is doing this?
Thank you in advance for your help

The alignment shop should have fixed when the previous owner went for one.
Just wait until you lower your car again, and specifically ask the alignment shop to straighten out your steering wheel.

if the steering rack is toast, it would definately make a lot of sounds when you're turning.
check your power steering fluid
you can also look at your steering rack, check the boots for any leakage, if there's nothing, i wouldn't worry about it too much, as i think your problem should be solved with an alignment

sometimes it just does it. my cars suspension was perfectly fine but even after an alignment on BRAND NEW Hankook RS2's, it still required me to pull it to 1 side in order to get it to go straight.

What happened after?
Actually I asked the owner today, and found out that the front lower control arm was replaced...
and hence why the alignment was done...
so my question is it still fixable or should I shell out the dough for a steering rack?
Or can an alignment shop still be able to fix the steering wheel?
I do plan to replace the tie rods, with Ep3 ones, once I figure out which ones are compatable w/ my sedan
