Steering column alignment?
My wife's car was stolen. Car in question is a 2000 Honda Civic h/b DX. The steering column was damaged (bent) and the ignition was damaged as well.
I took it to a shop to have the steering column and ignition fixed. They replaced both.
My wife said as she is driving, if she takes her hands off the wheel, the steering wheel becomes crooked. I haven't seen it for myself so I'm just going by what she relayed to me.
Does anyone know what this might be? Does it sound like the steering wasn't properly aligned while going back in? She said when she parks the car, the steering wheel is straight and the tires are perfectly straight. This only happens while she is driving. Thank you in advance.
Ok I spoke to the tech who fixed my car. He said I need to get an alignment. Is this right? Should a steering column replacement deem an alignment? I don't mind it I just want to make sure that the alignment will fix the problem.
