Meet Stephanie Kwolek - Inventor of Kevlar and Nomex
Stumbled upon this article, thought some of you might find it interesting. She's the inventor of Kevlar fibers, and Nomex which is used in the fire resistant clothing.

she was not the inventor of nomex. Wilfred Sweeny was. He's the only one on the patent.

No problem, but I should say that I have a little vested interest as my father was Wilfred Sweeny. He was awarded the Lavoiser Medal from DuPont in 2002 for this and other contributions. It took him a long time to get the recognition that he deserved, and I just didn't want to have Stephanie Kowlek get any more recognition for something she did not contribute to. I could go into more details per conversations I had with my dad but both her and my father are both gone so there's no need to. Thanks for reading. You can find more on the web to verify what I've written
