sorry i didn't make that clear 11.8 psi and i think i could lower it some and make the same power because i think the timing was still conservative.

thanks, yeah it shaped up to be pretty good my goal was to hit 200 ft.lbs , but we got 198 ft.lbs on the baseline pull after just a street tune. He was driving it for 8 months before we were able to get it on the dyno.

It doesn't have a vtec head, however you could probably rev it out to about 7K if it is making power. I rev mine out to 6800.

It's nice to see another sohc zc making some power.

i rev'd my y7 to 7-7.2K back in the day. stock is 6.6K i think.
if its like a a6 head, it should have some sturdy springs. 7k aint ****.

i dont see it making more power but it would make for even a broader powerband. either way

THe sohc zc's don't really like high rpm in my experience get pretty noisy after 6krpm.

Nice result and the lsd l3 gboxs are rare.

well the small 14b seems to plateau at about 4500-5000 rpm and the torque seems to be falling off up top. To make the car more relaible we want to keep the revs down but still retain good power band so shifting he won't fall out of it. If he shifts at 6500 rpm he would have to fall below 4250 roughly. I am pretty happy for the tuning portion only being street tuned and then dynoed for an hour. The base pull was 213 hp @ 198 ft. lbs in gernally the same power trend. The goal to begin with was 200 ft.lbs and i was not really concerned for the hp.

yeah we were lucky enough to get that trans from a dohc zc swap the was in the car before. It really is an awsome transmission in my opinion and thumbs up that its lsd.

You Can rev Higher y7 uses vtec valves springs and retainers

d16 has its own better than the other non vtecs besides y7 but 7k on stock will be fine

I'm curious why the torque plateaus between 3.3k and 3.8k, too much/too little timing in the lower boost columns? I always try to tune with as little boost as possible, then max, then places in between if I have time.

Aside from that, looks like a good deal of power from a 14b and a stock non-vtec motor.

yeah it does have a very nice powerband, im diggin the torque. didnt notice it was a non-vtec motor, bet that helps contribute to the torque. never understood why but the non-vtec motors typically have high tq numbers on par with hp.

lmao you must of had a bad sohc zc or something. i have a sohc zc and it loves to hit 7200 rpm. and its not noisy

OP: anyway great numbers and simple set-up i love it. glad its non vtec man people swear that the sohc vtec's are the only ones that can make good power. glad your being different.
