rear shim kit

Default rear shim kit

im going to lower my 2000 integra with tein s tech springs, and i was wanting to use the rear shim kit or the washer trick to fix my camber in the rear. How many washers would i need for each side? I was looking on here for a topic on how to install or do the washer trick but cant find it...lmk thanks

Honestly, none. When I lowered my 2000 GSR to flushed tires, I only had -1.5* of rear camber. Not enough to ever worry about.

If you want to dump the car even further (and flushed tires is already fairly low for an Integra), you'll probably want even more negative camber to fit the low offset wheels that accompany the "slammed" look.

Now, an EK chassis Civic on the other hand, with its significantly steeper rear camber curve, does end up with some significant rear camber with only mild lowering.

But if you really don't want any more rear camber than stock, 1 washer per bolt will get you very close. 2 per bolt might leave you with positive camber if you haven't lowered it too much.

yea ill prob just do 1 washer on each side since they say the tein s tech only lowers the rear about 1.25 in....it doesnt have to be perfectly back to stock just close enough b/c i drive alot daily.

I'll leave the camber and tire wear argument to other threads.

Please don't forget that any change in either ride height or camber, will change toe, and necessitate an alignment. Bad toe settings kill tires, quickly.

No pictures, but hopefully this will make enough sense. Its rather trivial work, actually.

Jack up rear of car and remove rear tires if you want additional space to work in.
Remove stock bolts that mount the rear UCA to the chassis.
Replace those bolts with new longer bolts.
Install washer(s) on each bolt, between UCA and chassis.
Re-mount UCA, making certain the new washers sit flat.

The strength of the bolts used is important. Grade 8 (not sure on the metric rating that is equivalent) would be adequate.

Unfortunately, I do not know the torque specification for those bolts. I would assume that at least 30 ft-lbs would be sufficient, but I just tightened to "rather tight" with a basic hand ratchet the only time I've removed those bolts, and haven't had issues.
