Upper Ball Joint
Ok, I think I found the source of a knock I get when going over bumps or making somewhat sharp turns. The upper ball joint on my car is gone I think. With the wheel off the ground I can grab it and move it around, at least a 1/4" in all directions. I've heard you need to replace the upper control arm to replace the upper ball joint, is this true? Also, could anybody give me a run down of the procedure right quick? Thanks in advance.
when i got the car.. and changed the struts and ball joints, i was going to change the upper ball joints, but didnt..... they dont sell those balljoints by themselves. they sell u the whole control arm.... and its like 110 for that thing ea..... if u can find the ball joint by itself , great, try to change it.. if not u going to change the whole arm..... just my .02
iknow theres a company that makes an adjustable ball joint. i dunno if its for the 88-91 (i had a 99 hatch at the time) but i know there is one. it lets u adjust camber in like .5 degree +/- i think.
I'm getting adjustable ball joints for my CRX...both camber and caster are adjustable with these...I'm not sure what brand...the alignment shop ordered them up.
They are out there...

Only problem is you can't order direct. I have these and a rear camber kit but had to order thru a dealer. The part no. is 67120 or follow the link.
