OT: Two cans, some water, a drill and firecrackers equals...
... redneck fun.
ITR-FL and We-Todd-Did-Racing present...
How to shoot a can into the air with a firecracker.
First, Take two cans, one smaller than the other. Drill a hole in the bottom of the smaller can that'll hold the selected firecracker.
Second, add about 1" of water to the bottom of the big can:

Then, place a firecracker into the hole drilled into the smaller can and place the smaller can into the bigger can:

Next, lit and move back and take pics

LOL....i've been doing this since i was in 4th grade! It was passed on by my uncle and dad....kids always asked, what are you doing...and i say watch this...light it and run! they were all amazed and tried this when they got home! Its fun...but you have to had the right amount of water, make sure fire crackers fits nice and snug in the whole made..and yeah! happy can shooting to all!
Can you guys just buy explosive type fireworks where you live? If we are even seen looking at them here in Ca, we get fined. I had to smuggle mine in through Mexico. I've had nothing but fun since I returned. Best $10 bucks I have ever spent.
Dood - how high in the air is that can?

damn how the hell does it get that high in the air from a single firecracker?
The firecracker produces a positive internal pressure inside the smaller can. The water prevents this pressurized air from escaping around the bottom of the can, so the pressurized air forces the small can up into the air. Kinda like a piston will so if there's nothing stopping it's downward motion after air/fuel ignition.. (not really, but..)Marc: 75 feet? not sure I was looking through the camera viewfinder thing.

Pat, who starts rummaging through stuff to find firecrackers now
