Default 94 HB with b18 swap exhaust question

ok so I checked this and think I understand but just need a lil better idea before I waste money here. I have a 94 hatch and I'm swapping out the stock junk motor to a b18 in about a month. Now the question is for the exhaust system I will want the header off an integra (b18) and then the down pipe and everything from a civic? is that right or will what I have now work?

I'm not aware that the D-series 'downpipe' connects to the top part of the integra header.

I used the integra header and 'down pipe' I guess as your calling it, and had the flange re-welded to bolt onto my civic exhaust.

ya you will need a header for the b18 engine because it bolts up to the engine but the exhaust of a civic hatch because the integra exhaust and hatch exhaust are different.. so ya you were on the right track

that's what I thought just needed to double check. Also I was told since it's a non v-tech I can use my stock ECU but then again I heard that would blow the motor. So which one is filling me full of **** here?

The stock integra headers and downpipe + re-welded flange on any exhaust you use for you civic.

You can run the p06 just fine but the rev limiter is a little lower

p06 is stock in the 94 hatch? (i know jack about the ECU's) An do you know what the difference in the rev is? This is a project car but also a daily driver for now till my girl gets a new car. She's just lucky I like to have toys

find an obd1 p28 if ur motor is ob2 get a conversion harness. You could also send out the p06 and get it chipped for VTEC (not V-tech)btw and get the rev limiter set for the 8800 or whatever the motor is set for stock

Whoever just posted that 'you can run a B18 on a P06' is a moron...

Either buy a OBD1 PR4 ECU (which is what I'm running with my B18B1 swap) or a OBD1 P75 ECU. OR you can get your ECU chipped and programmed to operate like either a P75 or PR4 ECU. PR4's are typically only $40-50, well worth it, and will run the engine correctly, do not under any circumstances run a B18 on a low displacement SOHC ECU aside from maybe to start it just to know your engine turns over.

see what I mean some say the stock is fine and other don't? WTF! What is the difference between the PR4 and the P75? I am buying a complete set up from a shop here and I just want to make sure I am getting the right ECU with it.
Thanks for your help guys

I just checked and this is what it shows works for the b18;

B18B 95 US P74,P75,P06,PR4,P28,P30,P72,P61 s100,s200, s300 2,18

so as of now I'm just super lost on the whole ECU thing. I never had to deal with those so this is all new to me really.

^^ couldnt of said it better myself

There are some dumb ppl on here, never never never run a b series motor on a d series ecu. Yes it will start the car but it will not give it the fuel it needs to run correctly, the maps are completely different. If i were you after the swap together just pick up the ecu that goes with your year motor. What year integra did the motor come from?

it's a 95. That's what I thought cuz it wouldn't make since to use a ecu that is made for a totally different motor. thanks for your help guys I like to know everything before I start my projects.

That list of ECU's that you posted is just a list of OBD1 ECU's, That just means ECU's that will 'plug in' or have the same connector to the wiring harness basically, the CORRECT ECU's are the P75, and PR4. The PR4 was the ECU in 1992, and 1993 Acura Integras, Their engine code is B18A1, but in 1992 they revised the heads so they were essentially identical to what the B18B1 which used the P75 ECU (again, you need OBD1 though, I am 99% sure there are OBD2 P75 ECU's, so what I am saying is that it is fine to run either ECU for either engine. I am infact running a 1996 B18B1 motor with a 1993 PR4 ECU, Spins like a top.

alot of people take the phrase 'bolt in swap' to literally, Glad we could help you out! The PR4's are also available in OBD-0, so when you are shopping, be sure to get either a Manual PR4 from a 92 or 93 Integra, or a manual P75 from a 94 or 95 integra (I dunno if it was mentioned, but automatic and manual ECU's are also different, the code on them has usually P-75, and then AXXX (mine says A002, and so long as the number is below 50, it is a manual ECU, if it says A051, its for an automatic)

Another thing to mention, you didn't say what year integra you were getting your B18 out of, Please be aware that only the 94-01 integra's are 'bolt in swaps' because the 92-93 integra's use different mounts IIRC, Also Pre-1991 integras only have 127hp instead of the 142 in the 92+ LS/GS/RS models.

You can listen to me because I actually have the swap , too many people spread word of mouth, and it becomes incorrect.

I went from the stock 75hp 8 valve CX motor to a 16 valve head, and then to a 16 valve Vtec head, and THEN to the B18B, and the difference between the Mini-Me and the B18B is night and day, you will **** yourself doubling your power.

Yea, I own a 07 focus, a 95 Taurus SHO, and my hatch. My Fiance drove the SHO until recently because its been acting up, and then the civic is blown, so She's driving my focus while I'm hitching rides

Civic will be fixed this week, and I'd rather drive that then my focus
