Default Thin Head Gasket

As you all know, the comp ratio in a b17a1 is roughly around 9.7:1 and I was thinking about throwing a thin head gasket on to bump my compression up a bit. Yes I can do pistons but I'm waiting to get all my money together to buy all my parts and I was going to do this in the meantime. What type headgasket should I go with and what thickness. How much will it bump my comp up and will I feel a difference?

I don't know about how much of a difference, but if your wanting a thinner gasket i would use a cometic HG.

I just need a thin head gasket thats a std bore for the time being. I was looking around on cometic and the smallest they had was 81.5.

Can't you just remove the middle layer of an OEM gasket?

Mugen or Spoon. You'll get roughly 0.3 points out of either one. Mugen's was specifically designed as a 2-layer, and seems to be one of the more popular choices. We've had no problems whatsoever with the Mugen gasket we installed on my brother's C5.
