Default oil magnet?

What is in your engine oil that can get caught with a magnet? Peices of the crank? Rods? I don't know if these things are magnetic. Shed some light please.

every oil change I do notice small dust-like metal particles on the magnet, though very small amounts of it, loosely spread over the magnet. I have yet to see a huge chunk of steel though

What is the thread pitch for Honda oil plugs? I think I remember someone saying that they sell them at pepboys.

i get some collected on my magnetic drain plug. i figure it's from the valve train since it's all fairly new still......i dont belive you will catch any from the rods or crank.......if you do then you have some serious problems.......
