Hey guys Hopfully some one can help me i dont have a clue why this is happeing. Tonight I was driving Around and This has happend before It happens randomly tho, I got on it a little shifted from 3rd to 4th, and in 4th after letting up a little, I feel a slight jerk. This is were it gets weird. The car than is not responsive at all I put the petal to the floor and I have nothing no responce The car just coasts wont rev wont respond at all. I than will down shift into 3rd and the motor will rev on it's own like it should due to me down shifting step on the gas again no responce. The only way I can get the car to work again is stop throw the car in first and than drive away and it works fine untill two hours later and it happens ramdomly again. Than I was just crusing again, things seems fine didn't red line just spooled the turbo a few times. I stop at a stop sign started to normally cruse again and the car in 1 would start to buck back and forth hard around 2500-3000rpms. I shifted into second same the car wouldent let me drive. The only way to fix this is to stop turn off the car and than restart it. This also happend twice in one night. Than crusing home my cars tepm guage started to rise almost to the top. How ever i think that might be due to my thermostat i thing i need a new one. But these problems keeps happening to me and I have no idea whats causing them. I think i need a new dizzy but i dont know if thats causing the problem. Any ideas

 

what is your engine managment?

If you are boosting on a stock ecu it could be going in to limp mode. I'm not sure give some info on your setup.

 

A fully built b16a, full race turbo kit, built head, 1000cc injectors , Ectune the car is tuned. The problem is it's not setting a rev limmit like limp mode it's eaither just bucking and sputtering real hard or just loses all responce.

 

my car did this when the coil wire came a little loose, but IDK

 

I have an MSD external coil which i plan on getting rid of and I believe my ignitor is on it way out so i plan on getting a whole new dizzy could this be the cause of this ? the car also sputters at high rpms in 4 and 5 you can hear the bov open and close a bunch of times and it feels like the car breaks up is this all realted to my dizzy ?

And the overheating ? What was your car doing ? Anyone dose anyone else have anyother input ?

 

mine never overheated, but it sounds like you may have a sticky thermostat. try replacing that first

 

Ya i plan on replacing it but you said your car did what mine did when there was something wrong with your coil, what was your car doing ?

 

driving, then all of a sudden no power, nothing. like the car shut off.

 

Limp mode doesn't make 3k a limiter like the stock ign cut rev limiter, it just puts it into injector cut mode above that rpm. That means it will slowly decel until 3k, then buck around that rpm.

I'd check the connection for your chip/ostrich, as that could be the issue. If your ecu senses that memory being faulty, it goes to the stock code. I'm really surprized that eCtune gives you no error codes.

 

ok i'll check it but for some reason i still feel like it's got something to do with my dizzy
