New civic owner, and first post.
hi i just got my 2008 civic si sedan yesterday, im in my break in period and getting oil changes every 200 miles untill 1000 mile mark and changeing tranny fluid every 500 miles till 1000 miles, but its a very nice car fully loaded and all but i will still allways miss my srt4, i loved the power, but maybe ill be ok when i turbo my si, the blue is sick on it lol, well i cant wait to break it in and get on it, i havent push the trotle to hard.......YET! lol

Why are you changing your oil every 200 miles? Honda puts a break-in oil in it that you're not supposed to change until your next oil change is due.
Changing your tranny fluid isn't necessary either. The 2008 models already came with the new Honda MTF.

x2...and the break-in period is 600 miles, not 1000.

for one, Honda recommends keeping the factory fluid in there until 5k miles.
I kept my in for 4200 miles and 8 months and my car doesn't take a drop of oil. R18
Two, this is a 21st century engine. you do NOt get shavings.
the small amount you get will get caught in the filter.
you are really over doing it. I can see an oil change at 500 miles and at 1,000 miles and then what ever longer intervals you decide to do.
As for the tranny i think its a good idea to switch fluid but i dubt that will give you anyhting since any shavings are already in the magnet.
