Default making my prelude '97 obd1.

Hi...

I have a Prelude from 1997.

I'm swapping my F20A4 engine into a H22A2.
All great and all fine, I was told that I have to cut of the orginele obd2 cable from the ECU to the engine. So I did...

Then I placed the ODB1 enginewirebundel in the car.

Now I've gor +-20 cables that I have to connect to the obd1 wirebundle. Now I'm looking foor the schemas for the wires, 'cause the colours are not the same:

On the left you see the orginel OBD2 cablebundle that goes into the car... on the right the OBD1 cablebundle were the ECU comes. But now I have to put the lose ends together, but I don't now witch colour needs to be witch colour... I hope you can help me. thx!

Whoever told you to cut into your harness needs to be slapped.

Oh, and to answer your question:

So if i understand this correctly, you want to run the OBD1 engine harness on your OBD2 interior subharness harness...correct?

man did you ever get some bad advice!!! You could have converted your OBD2 engine harness to OBD1 and bought an obd2 to obd1 conversion harness and been done with it.

wow, um. So you are doing this without having a clue what everything is. Well i'm gonna tell you that you are going to need to buy a service manual. preferably a helms or a factory service manual because they will have the pinouts and wire colors there for you and tell you their function.

I dont understand what you are telling me in the picture. The engine harness is only in the engine bay and connects to the interior sub harness right next to the shocktower. The OBD1 engine harness will not completely plug in to the OBD2 subharness and they are all pinned differently.

you got yourself into a mess.

So I'm going to try to put my orginel engine harnas back to th interior harnas, I hope that that will work :/

Then I just buy a jumperharnas and I'm done?

Yah basically. But you have a mess on your hands. Hopefully you left enough wire on the connectors to work with.

yea, that's basicly all you have to do. If you still have your original harness, I'd suggest putting that back in. I got a jumper harness on ebay for only $65shipped....Don't forget that you'll also need an OBD 1 ECU. Here's a link to help decide which ones to get http://ntpog.org/forums/showthread.php?t=985

I'm just back from my car, I can put my original harnas together, but it's going to cost me a shitload of time.

that jumper harnas, I'm from Belgium... do you sent it to Belgium?
And I've got A p28 ECU fully mapped for this engine.

to tell you the truth, putting the original OBD2 harness back together is the best/easiest/possibly cheapest option you have.

contact rywire, boomslang.us or phearable.net for a jumper harness.

If you arent planning on swapping parts to use the OBD2 harness properly, you will need to convert it to OBD1. This is very simple tho and I have a writeup for it in the FAQ.

for your OBD2 f20A motor, it likely has the CKP and TDC sensors mounted on the oil pump. For OBD1 motors, these sensors are located in the distributor. This means that in order to use your OBD2 harness on the OBD1 motor, you have to make a jump harness from the CKP/TDC sensor connector on the OBD2 engine harness to the OBD1 distributor.

this is how you do it:

If you have any questions let me know. You should have the same wiring schematics as the h22a4's. But let me know if you run into any trouble.
