Broken item on intake...need help
I was drilling the hole for my amp wire to run through and the drill caught the metal and jerked sharply to the right and broke this vacume line off..i left it go for a while but while i was driving to work i noticed it seemed to misfire between 3000-4500 Rpm....i dont know if this is the problem but here is the part and what it looks like the way it is soposed to be...and broken...what is it?...and what does it do?

Btw when the car idles when its hott....this is a loud sucking noise coming from it then when u put ur finger over it, it stops of course but the idle also drops and sounds like its about to stall

OH I SEE NOW YOUR HOPE SHOULD BE SOME SUPER GLUE, BUT SERIOUSLY GO TO A JUNK YARD AND FIND THAT PART ITS NECESSARY AND U SHOULDNT BE DRIVING ALOT UNTILE REPLACED..

ok look dude, accidents happen, and alot of people think this is just funny, either go to a junkyard or an autoshop, or dealer and get this part or you can remove the small plastic piece....carefully from the hose and use super glue to put it back on side where it broke off.let it dry toroughly and try putting the hose back on. p.s. the vacuum is affected by the broken connection point.hence the varying idle speed etc. dont drive the car until you fix it! strictly my opinion.
problem fixed....super glue did the job...and got to fix acouple more odds and ends under the dash and hood...
if i wanted to repaint my valve cover...i have to order a new gasket set for that right??....

occasionally you can do that and get away with it, it depends on the condition of your gasket, if i were you i would just buy the 30 dollar kit that includes new grommets etc and not have to worry about the oil leaks

so your saying that if one takes off the valve cover of his.her car and just puts it back together yo will have oil leaks, despite how you put it back together? we are talking about only removing valve cover..

and that valve cover has a gasket, if it would never leak then they wouldnt sell replacement gaskets... ive personally re-used them almost every time, but leaks pop up occasionally, and its only $30 for new gaskets that will make sure no leaks, plus who knows how old that gasket is or could be original from over 10 years ago
