Default Transmission Question

I just want to be sure on this. I got my b16 swap in my civic a few years ago now. I am very sure I got a JDM S1 transmission with it. Can this trans be rebuilt? I hear about JDM synchros and such that make it so that not every rebuilder can rebuild it. Would it be better for me to find a USDM S1 that can be rebuilt, or is there someone in the So CA area that rebuilds JDM transmissions? Thanks in advance for the info. Kudos to this board for always being help!!

The JDM Synchro is a bunch of BS. Just get synchros and hubs from a 90-91 Integra., Acura usually doesn't stock them so you may have to wait on them but you can still get them. If you go with a USDM S1 (LS trans) your going to lengthen out your gears a ton, seeing you have a B16 rebuild yours. Anyone who can rebuild a trans should be able to do it.

I've opened up both jdm and usdm s1 transmissions.
The usdm gear cones on 3rd and 4th are larger than the jdm b16 3rd and 4th gear.
usdm 90-91 teg 3rd/4th synchro set WILL NOT FIT in a 90-91 jdm b16 tranny.

Please clarify what that means. No I cannot have it rebuilt? I can understand the idea of parts not fitting, but I am looking for a solution here. Thanks again for the feedback!!

Well thats odd that they don't fit especially the S1, I just rebuilt mine last season using 90-91 Hubs and synchros from Honda without any problems (yes it is a JDM B16 I have verified the teeth count on every gear). Also when I purchased just synchros from gearspeed they said to use 90-91 Integra parts along with Mike L. So not sure what why was larger unless you had a 92+ that you were comparing to.
