Is it from a dealer or Private Seller?
It kinda doesn't matter to me, I say that's too much. I'm cheap though
But It has low miles and you say the engine and Tranny are sound.
If the mechanicals are sound, then you can fix the cosmetics.
It comes down to what you wanna pay.
$6000 is too much for me, but someone else might be willing to pay more

It depends what you plan to use the car for too. If you're buying it for a commute car, then who cares what it looks like. You're getting a low mileage, V-6 with a good eng & tranny. That said, I'd try to keep the final price between $4500 & 5 thou.
For what it's worth, you did the right thing with the 4 grand counteroffer. The worst the seller can do is say no, but it allows you to see if she will come down in price.
Bottom line, totally agree w. raffydogg - if the mechanics are sound, you can always fix the cosmetics.
Good luck! Let us know what happens.

thats how much the car is worth in todays time, i only say that cuz when my 98 lx coupe got totaled, they compared it to other accords from dealers and my car ended up bein around $6500 cuz it had low mileage(72k) w/ all the features, for 87k miles, i guess its worth it but i'll prolly spend the most is $5.5 k

keep in mind that the v6 have transmission issues and a GOOD paint job will run you close to 3000 dollars ... the mileage is descent for a 98 but its still a 98 ... and its not even an ex ...
