lsvtec ignition timing question.....
hey im just curious what should the stock lsvtec ignition timing set at....???? and will advancing it at all make a difference....??? any ideas and info will help thanx
Set your base timing to 16* BTDC.
Make sure the service connector is jumped, and the engine is warmed up.
If you want to add more ignition timing, really look into something like CROME, Uberdata, NepTune, eCtune, etc... and add ignition timing values through the ECU.
A change at the distributor is a global adjustment.

Tuning the ignition timing curve, along with the air fuel, is an integral part of a complete engine package. To do that properly, you need engine management-Crome, Hondata, AEM. 16-18 degrees BTDC at idle is a good starting point.
can someone please tell me where this connector is that im supposed to jump to adjust the ignition timing.... i adjusted the dizzy without the connector being jumped and i did see a nice change in low end power when i advanced the timing but would it be possible to advance it too much on a stock lsv (block is bone stock) and cause it to detonate??? the car does seem to be pulling better tho and it idles at a steady 700

if your in an eg civic i believe the connector is located in the passengers footwell near the ecu not sure on the wire colors though i believe you cant set your dizzy timeing to 16-28 btdc though without it jumped so you you should look into a wiring diagram and find it youll know you have it right when you start the car and the check engine light blinks a few times that meens its in timing mode
