ignition timing??
you'll need something like eCtune, Neptune, or hondata or any of the standalones to properly datalog actual ignition timing. the timing you see in the table is often not what the engine sees.
but arent all these programs pulling from the same place in the ecu? how would i be able to read them from say a hondata program? ive heard that most hondas are @ 16 degrees of timing from factory but is that at idle or across the board?? just a little confused on this whole timing thing
Honda specs 16* BTDC, +/- 2*. That is your base timing. The ECU makes changes in closed loop operation to meet preset running conditions based on current sensor values. Only the above mentioned system monitor BOTH table ignition values, and actual ignition values that the ECU is actively adjusting.
