tach needle not moving, use to bounce sometimes but worked fine....possible ignitor aka igniter ?
Hey All,
my questions is could the ignitor be causing this issue (see below) or could it be a loose wire?
So first sometimes my tach needle would jump randomly and quickly, the revs of the engine sounded normal, just the needle was off. I though this is usually a symptom of the ignitors in the dizzy going bad.
Anyway while cruising the other day i took the tach to redline and then the needle suddenly dropped to 0 and has never moved since.
The car starts and runs fine, the needle just doesn't move.
ideas?
ps: i have a viper alarm and i'm not sure if they had to tap it for a tach signal and maybe that could be where a loose wire is?
