hey guys i got a 1999 honda civic ex with a d16y8.. its got a aem short ram intake and i was just wondering how much hp and torque does this engine have ?

to be honest i would probably say 110 to 115 with 90-95 ftlbs.

i read somewhere that the 99 d16y8 makes like 142 hp and 111 tq.. is that tru?

and what is the actual whp and wtq?

Here is some dyno testing with that setup. It's for an automatic though.

Yes, it makes a little difference when power is measured to the wheels. Add ~5% to the graphs.

id love to turbo the motor .. imean the motor has only 45k miles on it and is a perfect candidate for it since it has such low miles.. but im a poor college student and cant afford those expensive edelbrock and turbonetics kits.. if any1 knos of a way to get a decent turbo kit let me kno guys thanks

try turbokits.com they have good stuff for cheap or you could peace it together sometimes thats cheaper.

i have a 99 ex with a d16y8 too, ive searched around and it has 130hp, not sure about torqe though, and not sure about that aem intake im looking into that too i have it also lol.

nope...thats probably the si you seen that on. either an si or you looked at a civic with an ls or b20 swapped into it. no way in a hell a stock single cam is making 142 hp. lol

it's like 120 hp 100 torque, short ram doesn't do much except make the broom noise when you hit the pedal....that's it.
