Painted grill behind Fenders
I have z3 fenders and when I had a friend paint them he didn't realize I wanted to leave the grills behind the holes just plain metal, so he painted over them. Now, once in a while, a little paint will come off and I'll have to touch it up. Is there any way to take off all the paint now without hurting the paint around the holes? I know some of you dont like these fenders, but I'm just askin for a little advice with this. heres a pic

Nice pic.
But seriously, just paint them with high temp aluminum color paint you can get at any hardware store and just mask off the fenders so it doesn't get sprayed. This paint really sticks and is tough so it won't flake. It will also take temps up to 1500 deg.

i dont understand the ? if u want the paint off the mesh, use 440 remover, not laquer thinner its too thick. tape around what u want to be painted so u dont **** up. thats option one. second option is to tape what u want red and sand the mesh with a 320 pad or a super fine pad. then paint and clear that silver.
I usualy try not to be a dick but I have to be in this case.Let see rims couldnt cost you less then 500,z3 fenders with paint no less then 400,HOW F-IN HARD WOULD IT BE TO BUY SOME 150$ LOWERING SPRINGS?

Fine I apoligize I just blurted the first thing to come to my mind.My advice would mask off what you dont painted then just spray the grilles with some spay paint,I take it you would want them black. So mask off the arear around the grille an spray away.
well even if you just keep touching them off,it's flacking because it was probably never scuffed up.are the grills held in with putty on the back?i would remove the old ones scuff em up then paint em.
thanks for the advice, I'll probably use the high temp aluminum paint. If I use that 440 remover, will the metal look alright after the paint's off or will I have to paint it again anyway? By the way, I can't really take off the fenders because they were a real bitch to get on right. Had to be modified a little, cause they're aftermarket I guess.
man thats gross... no offense but i never liked those damn things, and how do you benifit with them on? sorry for the rant
