Default will synchromesh help me any in this problem (look inside)

my 5th gear keeps spitting... and spitting REAL bad. even when just cruising around 3k. it doesn't grind or nothing, just POPS out. and its getting worse. (i.e. it does it more often.) 1-4 and R are really good. no spitting. a little grinding when shifting a little too fast but thats it. i do a lot of freeway driving and i need that damn 5th gear.

my mech says it may not work and to just save up for another tranny. but i need it fixed now. i don't want to rebuild because im already saving up for a stock lsd tranny but until then, MAYBE syncrhomesh will work??? just for a few months until i get my new tranny... i can afford a stock si tranny a LOT sooner BUT if ima replace, i wanna go all out. and it was already on t he to do list for my future b20 vtec...

please any information on synchromesh maybe helping me will be appreciated. i don't wanna waste my money and my time. and we all know that time=money ... so i'd be wasting money²! ...

i don't care if im only putting a band aid on it... like i said, in about 2 - 3 months ima ave a new tranny. i wanna know if it would work because until then its still my DD and i need 5th gear. if it only worked for about 1 month to 2 months, it would be way worth it for me. that way i either have my new tranny or im stock with a bad one for only a little bit longer as opposed to a lot longer...

It's worth a shot..

You can pick up pennzoil syncromesh at autozone for $8 a qt.. I believe it hold 2.1 quarts. depending on which tranny your using.

Well the only synchromesh that was supposed to work was GM brand with friction modifier and I believe that was discontinued. So you can try other stuff but I'm not sure if you'll have the same results as people before have.
