Default Turbo Exhaust

I have a 94 Prelude Si with an H23a1 2.3l engine on it. In the near future i plan on boosting my prelude, and i have been seeing on some of the top brands for exhaust systems that they say that some exhausts work for turbo. I'm also planning on buying an HKS Sport Exhaust System but since i have heard about that i have to change my exhaust in order to work with turbo, i do not know. Is this true and why is that?

yea i have the HKS exhaust system on my h23a1 and its definatly about performance... it really depends on how much boost your running... if only about 8lbs you should just get a hi flow cat and keep the hks... if about 15 or something then you should definatly try looking into a Greddy... they are pretty good with turbo back exhaust...

turbo cars want bigger exhaust, the bigger the better it all depends on how loud you can handle, but 2.5 exhaust will hinder power, if you already have exhaust i would just get a dmh electronic cutout, i wish thats what i did insted of full custom 3 inch exhaust.

Boost isn't a good measure of how much air an engine is flowing. I'd look more at the torque curve or a compressor map for his turbo.

Darton, I agree that a cutout is the easiest/best way to go here, or cheapest at very least.

Kteller makes a three inch exhaust system for turbo applications. Only catch is that it has to be welded together, piping and hangers.
