rod machining
i purchased a set of h-beam rods and for them to fit into my pistons they will have to be machined about .040 for clearance of the wrist pin. is this going to weaken the rod or anything like that for the full floating setup im going to have. my bottom end is being built for a turbo setup running 10 psi.
well what i would do it take it to a machine shop that specializes in automotive performance building. in my opinion it wouldn't affect the integrity of the rod at all since it's not even a hair's width you're talking here. just make sure to run arp rod bolts
btw... saying you're "running 10psi" doesn't mean anything considering the different sizes of turbos... it would be better to put your goal within the hp/tq range since that is the measurement of actual punishment and power your car will be put through.
