Interior removal allowed in SCCA SM2??
Full interior is needed for SM/SM2. You can cut away to install a roll cage/bar.
Do you have a harness? I recommend that since when I pull down hard on my straps it shrinks me about 1-2". My helmet brushes the roofline without my harness on.
You can also do aftermarket seats in SM/SM2 - if that helps.

You may as well apply the Stock class rules for SM2 interior removal. Just the stuff that can't be securely fastened down (ex. loose covers/panels in the hatch/trunk, etc.) can be removed. The parcel shelf, the plastic cover over the spare tire, and the spare tire in a CRX.
The only reason why SM cars look "stripped" is because they get to remove the rear seats... For example, every M3 at the Nat. Tour looked like bare painted metal from behind the front seats to the trunk.
I don't think its possible to even get near the 1500lbs. min. weight. that a <3.0ltr. fwd SM2 is allowed. Believe me I loose sleep over this...
