Default Has Anybody successfully got away from the cops.

heres what happened. im getting off the freeway and the chp is parked right off the exit. but the officer was out of the car. so he looks at my car and im driving off like if he were invisible. so he points at me to tell me to pull over. so im ignoring him apretending i didnt see that and slowly rolling. then he starts to walk towards his patrol car. and i punch it back into the freeway. and i lose him. so what i want to know. at what point does he catch ur plates? and if he did. does he go to ur house and arrest u the same day?.

i believe if he didn't read the plates and doesn't remember he can't input to the computer... just put an apb on a something colored civic that ran...

now MAYBE if he had an on car camera they can MAYBE get it off the video. but there are a lot of variables like distance light and stuff.

say he did get your plates in some way and he THINKS its worth the time to look for you, then he'll put an APB on your plate number and next time you get pulled over they'll ask why you ran and blah blah blah, but you can always argue you didn't see him. i think your fine.

NOW why the hell did you run? was running worth getting caught?

I don't understand why you didn't pull over in the first place? Better safe than sorry.

If I'm going over 100mph I'll run, by the time they actually get up to speed I've already turned down some back country road and hauled *** to where ever I was going. Of course I know this is stupid and I've had my fun with the cops so I've been relaxed about my speeding lately, another reason being a ticket for going 27mph over the posted limit, no more then 8mph over the posted limit now. But seriously if you think about it by the time he's up to speed in his crown vic you could accelerate to a higher speed and out run him...always remember though you can out run him but you can never out run the motorola.

even if he did get your plates and went to your house, he cant prove that you were actually the driver at the time. So if he was to show up just play dumb.

hell yea it was worth it. if u were in my shoes u had an option of staying and getting slapped with a ticket. or take off as far and fast as u can to avoid that ticket. im sorry to say but i had a choice to take off and i did. and i avoided a fat *** ticket. what about u?

So you went from a minor traffic ticket, probably a warning even, to a felony evading police. Nice.

I had a cop wave me over just a few days ago. I was doing 45 in a 25, but he didn't catch me on the radar. I was upbeat and respectful, so he let me off with a stern warning. That's about the 4th time I've been let go for speeding. 11 years driving and still have a perfect record.

Don't beg them. Don't act nervous. Don't act pissed. Answer their questions concisely. Put your keys on the dash, your hands on the wheel, the car in park with flashers on and the ebrake up. When they ask for your license and registration, say okay, I'm going to reach into my pocket and into the glove box as you're doing it. Put them at ease. What they're really looking for is a DUI or someone transporting drugs. So if you're cool, they'll let you go. If not, then oh well it's your fault anyway.

A civic can't outrun a crown vic, so it's kind of pointless in my opinion, though I have done things where you try to duck out of site quickly.

ie: On I-90 at like 1:30a I was doing like ~85 and a cop pulled out when I passed him (his reflectors lit up when I got close) and I killed the lights and pulled a U turn in a no U turn area before he got a clear sight on me (it was busy). Though for an actual race it's better not to waste your time .

A Crown Vic is done at 130, and takes a while to get there, so any B-swapped Civic (with US ecu) has got that covered. It's the radio I'm worried about. Duck out of sight is the way to go. I wouldn't drive home-that's the only place your plates will lead them.

But waving you over is a lot worse than sitting on the side of the road when you are doing, say, double the speed limit. I would pull over for a wave-over every time. I'm not driving drunk, transporting drugs, or breaking any other law.

i think no matter how you look at it you can run and sometimes get away, but you just make life worse for you and the rest of us. i dont know how many times ive been pulled over because a kid in a honda with a loud exhaust ran from the cops and now there looking for them, so they pull over everyone driving a honda and give them a hard time. or maybe you just get killed running. either way if your gonna race or speed do it somewhere safe. i learned my lesson the hard way, its just not worth it
