What are the differences between alternators(obd0-obd2)

Default What are the differences between alternators(obd0-obd2)

i was just wondering if i could put an obd1 alternator on my obd0 b16a because i currently have one on me, if not it would be nice to know the differences between them.

just the wires i beleive sir, my buddy coverted his obd2 to an obd0 so i know i t can be done, im just not sure how..

The connections to the harness are the same between OBD-0 and OBD-1 but the pulleys may be different; they are at least between OBD-0/1 D-Series.

obd-o and 1 share alternator. only b for b. i wouldnt do a d series on a b. different ribbs on the pulley.

yes obd0 and obd1 alternators are the same, obd2 will mount up fine but have a different plug, they also have a larger shaft that the pulley bolts on to

somebody did a write up on how to convert alternators from obd0-obd1 (or vice versa, I forget) if you search around, sorry I could'nt find it but its out there.

it depends some obd2 alternators have only 3 wires thoes cant be converted for instance i got a 99 si d16y8 runing in my 91 civic useing a 92 civic alternator the belts match the y8 pully and the plug matches the 91 civic plug so its a simple task if u want a obd1 to work on a obd0 wireing wise is the same but the pully is short one tooth so u can just swap the pullys if u got the time
