Default Need a good 205-45-16 all season tire. Any suggestions?

I am looking for a 205-45-16 tire that is a good wearing tire, has good rain and dry traction, and may be able to navigate light snow in certain instances. All I can find so far is summer performance. I don't need a high performance dry traction tire, as my CRX is my toy. Need a good balanced tire for my new daily driver. Thanks.

The proper 16" tire size for a CRX is 205/40-16, not 205/45-16, which is too large.

The Kumho ASX is a great choice, one of the best all-seasons for performance and it's reasonably priced. It's available in 205/40-16 ($77/tire at the Tire Rack).

I don't know if they come in the size your looking for, but Sumitomo HTR+ are good, even in snow. I use them on my Integra fat fives.

I've had good luck and have enjoyed my Falken Ziex 512s.

The Kumho ASX is way better than the crappy Sumitomo and Falken tires mentioned above, and it's not all that different in price, either.

I guess my wording was a bit off. My CRX is my toy. It rides on 15's. I am looking for a good 205-45-16 for my daily driver. 2000 Mazda Protege.

I currently have the Kumho ASTs, and am not a fan.

What makes the ASX so much better than the Falken Ziex 512 or, for that matter, the AST?

I assume you like them? How are they in light snow?

Better overall performance, in warm weather (dry and wet) as well as winter conditions.

The PZero Nero M&S is a very good all-season tire also. However, in most sizes the Kumho ASX is significantly lower in price, and offers similar performance.

And the survey results on the Tire Rack website are useless, because the respondents are biased because they're people who actually bought the tire. The most knowledgeable tire owners, who tend to buy the better tires, are more likely to judge tires skeptically and give them lower marks, whereas the least knowledgeable tire owners tend to buy the crappiest tires and tend to give them high marks.

The side-by-side comparison test results are a better measure of how one tire compares with another. However, with few exceptions, the Tire Rack only tests tires within the same performance category, so for example they only compare a top-of-the-line all-season like the ASX with other top-of-the-line all-seasons, and don't usually compare it against a lower-performance (often lower-priced too) tire.

The Kumho ASX is available in 205/45-16 for about the same price. However...

8. This is honda-tech.com, a place for sharing information about Honda and Acura cars. This isn't the place for information about wheels and tires for your grandmother's Buick or your son's Mustang; there are other websites that specialize in those cars, where people will have more specific expertise with those cars than here.</TD></TR></TABLE>
