Default What kind of MPG with a swap?

I have a 93 EG Civic SI and it is in need of a new engine. I am either going to replace the D16Z6 or swap in a B16A. I am wondering what kind of gas mileage I should expect with the swap. I'm pretty happy with the 35 mpg I've been getting with the SOHC. While we're on the subject, what kind of mileage would a B18B1 get? Thanks guys!

you should still be able to get at least 30mpg with b16a, I do in my 92si. But if your going to be ripping mad vtek it will probably be in the mid 20's

I have a friend who was getting around 32mpg on the highway with his JDM B16A with mad short gears and a LSD. He also had the usual I/H/E mods.

I get 26-28 all city driving with my b16a and if i run the freeway some its up around 31. not losing too much compared to the SOHC and you gain more power and fun. id say swap the B

I get similar if not better numbers with my 1980lb 92 CX w/ B18C1 It's great. My OBD0 B16 CRX gets much less

yep that's just what he has as well.

That crx sounds like it could use a remapping though
unless you drive it like a rayz kaa, in that case I could understand why lol!

highway driving im just under 32mpg. city driving is around 28-30mpg, but can be low like 26-27mpg depending on how often i want to test VTEC's reliableness. h2b swap with gsr trans btw.
