I just got me a 1999 Civic LX and the Thermostat Case ( Number 7) is corroded (actually has a hole in it).
Does anyone knows is it is possible to remove it without removing the intake manifold etc?
I already remove the 2 10mm bolts that attached it to the block.
I just need to separate the housing from the tube but it is not comming off.
Any help, ideas, pointers, directions, suggestions etc will be appreciated.
I did search but no luck so PLEASE keep this positive

 

just cut them and replace the tubes. as for the housing junkyard it. good luck

try twisting, but not too much as to tear the hoses.

 

Hoses are removed, just need to separate the thermostat housing from the coolant tube.

I think that the housing is attached to the pipe by pressure...not sure

 

Got it out, it was held in place by a rubber gasket on the tube.
I sprayed some WD40 and pulled it out by moving it sideways
