I'm not completely understanding your question. Are you asking what do you need to achieve 200hp FI? How many miles are on the motor. I hope your not talking about replacing the distributor itself if it's not bad. Maybe cap and rotor button. Why are you replacing the fuel pump unless your upgrading it for FI.

For that HP goal, head studs are not a must but are a nice upgrade. I would look into a Walbro 255L pump and new fuel filter, at least 330-550cc injectors and the correct range plugs. Definitely look into replacing your water and oil pump and maybe a new timing belt. If your dizzy isn't bad, leave the stock one in place as they usually outperform aftermarket brands. Cap and rotor are a good idea as well as your plug wires. Do a compression and leak-down test to determine the health of the engine and look into a good management system as well as a reputable tuner that can give you a conservative tune if it's your DD. Good luck!

First off, you read it and not heard it

Second, are you implying that if he doesn't get head studs the motor will not reach his 180-200HP goal?

y8s are known to spin bearings

do yourself a favor and install a shimmed and ported oil pump
