i need helpp asap about vtec
im about to make a purchase for a obd1 jumper harness and p28 to make my sohc vtec work. IF I JUST TAKE OUT THE LOW RPM PORTION OF THE VTEC MECHANISMTO DISABLE IT...WILL MY ENGINE MAKE THE POWER ITS SUPPOSE TO WITHOUT THE VTECH???????????? Ii will allow the valvetrain to lose extra valve train mass, reduce friction, and improve high performance reliability/ rpm......

Well. VTEC mechanism? WTF are you talking about? I'm thinking you should stick to Chargers...

do you have the distributor that goes with the engine? if not you will need to get one of those. then you can use the jumper harness and the p28 ecu. You will need the 4 wire oxygen sensor also
I do not really understand what you are asking about with the VTEC part. Are you talking about removing the rocker arms for the non vtec part of the valvetrain?

here im reading something outta a high performance honda handbook.... "The low RPM portion of the VTEC mechanism is disabled on this engine. Doing So allowed the engine to lose extra valvetrain mass, which reduced frictional power losses while improving high-RPM reliability. "
