Default Is it OK to just run one line to catch can?

One of the 2 block fittings (14mm) stripped and I'm currently only running one of the block fittings with the nipple to my Endyn catch can. Do you think this is sufficient enough for crankcase ventilation by just running one of the lines on the back of the block and then getting my valve cover done to run 2 ventilation lines?

i mean your engine isent going to blow up or anything, crankcase vetilation can be best described like this: you can never have too much, also knowing your power level would help a bit...

currently making 346whp at 15psi on a built LS-V low compression motor. Simple log manifold and a 57 trim t3/t4 turbo.

I know my motor isn't going to blow up or anything like that, but will running 1 fitting from the back of the block and 2 breather lines from the valve cover be sufficient enough ventilation?

im at about the same power level and im only using the two from the back of the block and nothing from the valve cover and its working just fine also i strongly URGE you to make that one from the block a drain back...

You find yours fills fast?

Btw to the OP I'll be doing the same as you 1 on the back of the block and 2 on the vc, Im hoping it will be sufficent.

A drainback, eh? I know it fills up pretty quickly, but from what I was told, it's better to just empty it out every week or 2. How often does your catch can fill up? It's unfortunate, I somehow managed to strip the entire block fitting on the back, so it's almost impossible for me to get it out and to use it as a drain back.

you could also tap your PCV plug and use that as the return, I would defiantely run the return, its not worth checking the can all the time/ worrying about being low on oil. People say its bad to drain back but all that stuff that ends up in the can was in the crankcase anyway, but to each his own. I use to not run a drainback and everytime I would check my oil I was worried about whether I was burning oil or just losing it in the can, so I now run a drainback..... takes the guess work out of it

What do you mean by tapping the PCV plug? Got a picture to show me?

no picture, the black box that you removed on the back of your block, you were supposed to plug it. take that plug and tap it and use it as a return.

about 8-10 full throttle passes and it fills up, and i have the Greddy 1000cc can. now that i drain it back i dont have that problem anymore, i just wish it was baffled not cause it does spit out some oil on full throttle but nothing major...

thats my point exactly, you dont want the oil leaving the crankcase, just the fumes and pressure.

Maybe it'll be different for me since the Endyn/Morosa can is baffled?

you might not spit oil like me but it will probably fill up just as fast, the baffles are to prevent it from spitting oil when the can is under pressure. also i believe your can is smaller than mine...

I never had my Endyn can spill, but I also never drag raced the car with it on there. I only had it on the car for 20-30 miles before I took my car off the road for the winter, but I know within 5 miles of some hard 1-2-3 on an LS Tranny, I had filled mine all the way to the bottom fitting.

w/o ..... I never got around to putting the tee in there for the drainback, but I know as soon as I got a good pull in on the street I would shoot a quart up that hose.
