Default how much should i charge to cahnge a timing belt ????

my neighbor saw me swapping heads on my hatch and asked if i could swap his timing belt out .... i said sure i need cash ill get you some prices. i can get a timing belt and a new tensioner for preety damn cheap but what should i charge for labor ??

since its a neighbor you should charge like 20 or 25 bucks, it would be a nice thing to do.

$25 lol this isnt a charity lol naw ive read that dealerships charge like 700-900 to do it i figure like 125-175 plus parts or something like that ...

i charge people 100 labor. they can bring their parts or i can buy it for them, but it's 100 for labor for me. i feel thats a fair enough price.

I don't think it's 900 dollars at the dealership, but who knows, they charged my homie MORE ($1400) to change out a clutch master cylinder and clutch slave cylinder . I'd say 80-100 depending on what the kids done for you.

my friend charge about $100 at least if not more $120. Timing belt is a *** to replace.

i think its going to be $100 plus parts , o btw its a 96 civic ex .... so i have to work around the power steering and a/c .....

Yeah, $100 plus parts ain't bad at all! Hell, if you have a hefty impact gun it won't take long at all!

Depending on how good of an neighbor he is to you guys you could do it for 100 like everyone is saying or do it for 200 like i would and highly recommend a water pump change. But yea i would do it for 200.
