Default i have some questions regarding parts

okay. it is time for me to replace some parts on my vx and i was wondering has anyone had a bad experience using parts other than genuine honda. i need to do mt timing belt(everything that it includes), my a.c. clutch, my main relay is acting up, clutch master cylinder and im forgetting something else.anyways what i am really asking is does anyone have some real truth to using aftermarket parts or does it come down to personal taste. i am putting myself through school right now so money is on the tight side. my 92 vx has 155000 miles but i think that the timing belt might have been changed before by what the seller told me. i mean is a timing belt from somewhere like o'riely,auto-zone,carquest or a place like that any different. ant response on the topic will be nice...

Personally I wouldn't fool around with parts I don't know ESPECIALLY a timing belt unless your car is heavily modded and you need a Toda Timing belt or something.

Just remember the money you save now could end up costing you ALOT more down the road if that aftermarket timing belt rips.

I usually try to stay with OEM Honda parts for the most part. Anything else is a gamble I'm not willing to take. Try http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com to see if you can get a good price on a timing belt there.

thanks for the link to the honda site. the prices on there are alot better than the dealer around my area. i trust honda parts and i hate to do a job twice. i was just checking to see if anyone has had an abnormal expirence with some parts other than honda. by the way my car is completly stock, all the way to the air filter. as i have to replace things i will either upgrade or swap or something. but thanx again on the link.
